Upon arriving Vancouver  I checked into the Holiday Inn Express at Metro Town,  Burnaby.  This is the same Mall where we gathered at the Food Zone to continue our reunion with a coffee break at the food court.  After everyone had gone I checked out from Holiday Inn Express by 5pm.

Clement Chong and his father Johnny Chong picked us up from the Holiday Inn Express after the afternoon gathering. Chow Kat Liang & his son Terence took a flight from SFO to Vancouver BC Airport and went straight to the lunch reunion. They have booked a suite at the Days Inn near the Vancouver Airport. After checking in we went to the Richmond Night Market and had dinner there. Clement drove his father to stay the night with his uncle in Port Coquitlam before driving back to Calgary where Clement’s home is. It was intended that Johnny could spent some quality time with his grand son then he would join me at  San Francisco after my family cruise reunion at Florida.

The next day we were joined by Lau Wah Swee, his wife and Jean Lim to have DimSum at a local Chinese restaurant. Later we visited the Richmond pier (Fisherman’s wharf) for some yummy ice-cream.

While KL & son left for the Women’s World Cup soccer final between the USA and Japan, Wah Swee dropped me off at the Days Inn Hotel where I had a good rest. Upon their return from the soccer match the three of us went to a nearby Subway restaurant for dinner.

The following morning KL & son went to have breakfast with his aunt Jean before catching a flight to SFO while I  took a cab to the central station to catch a Greyhounds coach to Seattle.

My journey to Seattle  was by a 4 hours greyhound couch from Vancouver Pacific Central Station to Seattle Greyhound Station.  Chong Fan Sang & Chow Suet Pheng were waiting for me at the Bus Station when the coach pulled in.

They were very kind and gracious hosts who invited me as their house guests for 3 days. They became my tourists guides, drove me get some cash from HSBC Bank, to visit some of the famous attractions including The Space Needles tower some 520 feet above the ground; from the Observation Deck, the views are breathtaking, and the panorama skyline view of Seattle’s beautiful downtown.

Seattle’s famous glass-blowing artist, so stepping into the theatre to watch his masterwork and to explore the imaginative gallery in the video:

I retraced my steps from the entrance and took two more short videos showing the fantastic colourful art made from multiple colours and shapes, reflecting on the polished mirror-like dark floor with shadows as if they were floating on water.

Hiram M. Chittenden Locks watching  several ships being lowered from fresh to salt water on their way to Puget Sound.  At the Visitor Center, there are some displays explaining the mechanics of the locks, why they were built, and the historical context behind their construction. From there, walk to the locks themselves and see vessels large and small as they sail in, get  together, and then descend more than 20 feet (6 m) to sea level when the draining valve is opened.Following a ramp below ground, where you can look directly into the water and see salmon and steel head working their way up the locks’ fish ladder to spawn.
