The Year of the Tiger will arrive on the 1st February. While we do the traditional things like cleaning the house, buying new clothing, shopping for the ingredients for our traditional reunion dinner dishes and decorating the house, let us not forget sending greetings to our family and friends. With the current pandemic, it may not be possible for our loved ones to gather for reunion dinner and it may not be safe to travel and visit each other so let’s do something different, let’s do something memorable and fierce like a tiger. We had the idea to show our love and gratitude with photo greeting to wish our parents and family and friends a Prosperous year of the tiger and centralise it in one place and share it on ‘Memories of the way we were’ so that our friends and family who were originally from Brunei who now reside all over the world can see some updated photos of their dear childhood friends and classmates.
The blog/ebook administrators are mostly in their eighties and this Chinese New Year post was created by a younger generation – we thought we would honour and surprise them with something special. We hope that you enjoy the photo greetings as much as we have loved creating them. With much of our communication now done on Whatsapp, Facebook, messenger etc, sharing a personalised greeting with a family photo is so much easier than the traditional way of mailing them. Please do leave us some feedback about this post and please do share it with family and friends. We would love to get more people to read the wonderful memories that our elders have captured for us.

I totally agree with your observations that Shuian and Ruey Ru caught up with the new idea of the proposal of greeting card with photos. They are the experts in IT technology in creating a lot of beautiful Birthday cards over the years. They caught up with the ideas and passed on to their closed group chat. Lan Siew you are also a good leader and motivators, you will be the next leader forming a new group to work on another new project. Good to hear from you from Londond.

Terima kaseh Hjh Saimah for your lovely feedback. I am sure the team leaders and the group that their ceative arts and crafts have been recognised on line. I hope that you can use the same idea to motivate members of your family and their friends to start for their Hari Raya cards expressing their love and appreciations to their elders, be their parents, their uncles and aunty even their teachers! How about that? Please discuss with Shuian Huian and Ruey Ru what software to use except the Jawi !

I admire their creativity and thank them for their efforts! ” As an Administrator, I totally agree to his observations that the gradhic designs and the colour scheme are most outstanding., among them are two teenagers: Shania Narcis, 15 years old Year 10 students (photo appeared with her sister and monther Ruey Ru CHong )the other is even younger student Year7 , Chloe Yong age 12.(photo appeared with her month Irene Shim). These are the 2 but there might be more.

Thank you for taking the trouble to summerise the recent surge of postings in our eBook. It gives everyone a good picture of the results of opening up our platform. It also clearly shows the our activities are still relevant. that CHMS Alumni and their children and grandchildren and many others still care and concern. The six categories of topic as summerised by you will indicate to Management how our Memories of the Good Old Days will evolve and develop in the days to come. In my opinion, as long as the postings are topical,interesting capable of connecting us harmoniously, they are welcome.
I peruse Chew Chee Phoong New Year greetings in Chinese with great interest,. His command of Chinese language and literature is of such a standard hardly anyone in Brunei could match.
The answer provided by Dr Chong in response to query about 初七人日 greatly enlightens me!👍
